Renewal of Vows
The following ceremony was for a couple that wanted to renew their vows. They had planned their wedding for this date but the groom's father became fatally ill and they were married by a Justice of the Peace before his father passed away. The couple included a Memorial Candle for the groom's father within the ceremony.
Rev. Rachael: Marriage is the union of two souls in a strong love. And it is this love that joins and binds these souls together throughout eternity.
We are gathered here, on this glorious day, to witness the renewal of Groom and Bride's vows, as they travel life's path together.
Groom and Bride share a wondrous kind of love; forged in the fires of life and tempered by the flames of adversity.
Together have they loved. Together have they lost. Together have they overcome. And together will they persevere, safe in the knowledge of the strength of their love.
And, I charge all of you gathered here as witnesses to Groom and Bride's vows, to love and support them in their life together and the family they will build together.
(light Memorial Candle)
We light this candle today in honor of Groom's Father. Though he cannot be with us here in body, he is always in our hearts and in our minds. We know the Groom's Father is watching over us now and will always be there as a guide through life: the good times and the bad... Would everyone please bow your heads in a moment of silence for Groom's Father.

May I have the rings?
Groom, will you hold true your vows to Bride, now and forever?
Groom: I do. (recites his vows and places ring on Bride's finger)
Rev. Rachael: Bride, will you hold true your vows to Groom, now and forever?
Bride: I do. (recites her vows and places ring on Groom's finger)
Rev. Rachael: May what Bride and Groom have vowed here before us, never be untrue. May their love grow deeper and stronger everyday.
A love that is not only the joining of two hearts and two bodies, but the joining of two beautiful souls. A love that even Time itself could not outlast, and it may truly last forever.
Will everyone please rise?
(holding Bride and Groom's hand together)
May your paths be smooth / And the weather be fair / May your hearts fill with joy / And never a care
May your friends be many / And the good times last / And may you look fondly / Upon the past
May life be kind / And love be true / May many great blessings / Shine upon you
Go now and receive the blessings of your friends and family.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is my dearest pleasure to re-introduce to you-- Mr. and Mrs. Groom.
